In the last eighteen months ICSTI has welcomed 10 new members reflecting
the diversity of our members by geography and organisation
type. The latest and significant addition to our membership is OCLC who will
be represented by their President and CEO, Jay Jordan.

ICSTI is very pleased to announce agreement with CENDI on a new
partnership arrangement. The two organizations will make commitment to
reciprocal membership benefits, and will explore joint initiatives and
collaborative opportunities that serve the interests of our
complementary constituencies.

ICSTI is now represented on ICSU's new Strategic
Coordinating Committee on Information and Data (SCCID). ICSTI's
President was confirmed by ICSU as a member of the Committee and
endorsed by the General Assembly in Ottawa. The remit of the SCCID

The multi-contributor project on Numeric Data: Citation
Techniques and Integration with Text is now complete and the final 36
page report is available here.

VTT Technical Research Center of Finland have just published the
Reports: Acquisition, Utilisation, and the Impact of Patent and Market
Information on Innovation Activities, and Data Mining Tools and
Competitive Intelligence, and are making this available
